India’s dairy sector has witnessed rapid transformation in recent years, supported by key government initiatives and global collaboration. Events like the International Dairy Federation World Dairy Summit (IDF WDS) 2022 highlighted India’s growing role in global dairy dialogue. Domestically, schemes such as the Rashtriya Gokul Mission and Goberdhan Yojna have accelerated efforts toward indigenous cattle development, clean energy generation, and rural dairy empowerment.
Further strengthening the backbone of the industry is the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF), which continues to support the creation of robust dairy infrastructure across India. Initiatives focusing on the digitization of the dairy sector and the universal vaccination of cattle are paving the way for improved productivity, traceability, and animal health—critical pillars for ensuring sustainable growth.
