Design Engineer

Job Description

1. Design and drafting of parts and assemblies using the latest SolidWorks software.
2. Solve design-related issues in coordination with other departments.
3. Coordinate with vendor and production teams on drawing-related issues.
4. Ensure timely issuance of drawings and designs to the concerned department.
5. Ability to travel when required.
6. Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
7. Experience in SPM (Special Purpose Machines).
8. Proficient in identifying and selecting standard machine components like gearboxes, motors, bearings, LM guide rails, ball screws, and servos.
9. Expertise in fabrication and welding methods.

Key Responsibilities

1. Concept Development

1. Brainstorm and develop initial design concepts based on project requirements or client needs.
2. Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed schematics and prototypes.

2. Design and Analysis

1. Create detailed drawings and specifications for components or systems.
2. Perform simulations and analyses to test the feasibility, strength, and performance of designs.
3. Optimize designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.

3. Prototyping and Testing

1. Develop prototypes or models to test design concepts.
2. Conduct experiments and tests to validate design performance and functionality.
3. Analyze test results and make necessary design modifications.

4. Collaboration and Communication

1. Work closely with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements.
2. Effectively communicate design ideas and changes to team members and clients.
3. Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure feasibility of production.

5. Documentation

1. Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, technical reports, and user manuals.
2. Maintain clear records of design iterations and revisions.

6. Project Management

1. Manage design projects, timelines, budgets, and available resources.
2. Ensure design milestones are met on schedule and within allocated budgets.

7. Regulatory Compliance

1. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety norms.
2. Keep updated with applicable codes and standards.
